Workshops & Bounties 💰

We have put together multiple workshop bring different aspects of the web3 industry and help builders find their niche while giving basics of various domains in the industry.

Crypto Economic workshop by CryptoEconLab

Cryptoeconomics is the backbone of various protocols, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Filecoin. It lets people make and use big economic systems, like token networks and the Metaverse.

CryptoEconLab is designed to take ownership of the economic aspects of a techno-social system, including design, specification, validation, deployment, and governance.

Crypto-economic Workshops by Cryptoconomic Lab :-

  • Workshop on how to design, validate, deploy, and govern large-scale economic systems.
  • Formation, diffusion, and learning in networks
  • Stochastic optimal control for evolutionary systems
  • Evolutionary game theory, population games, state based potential games
  • Optimal pricing and resource allocation in distributed networks
  • Value attribution and graph-based algorithms
  • Market design, algorithmic game theory & differential privacy
  • Prediction markets, automated market makers, reputation systems
  • Institutional economics and governance

FVM Workshop: Official FVMs (Filecoin Virtual Machines) are flying in from all over the world to run a workshop at the event

The Filecoin network now has general smart contract programmability thanks to FVM. Layering computation on top of storage also opens up new avenues for trustless cross-chain interoperability and integration. The Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) aspires to be a polyglot VM, drawing on the concept of Hypervisors to establish a multi-VM design that is EVM compatible.

The Filecoin Virtual Machine (FVM) combines smart contracts with storage and compute co-location. The FVM is a polyglot execution environment for IPLD data that is based on WASM.

It is intended to support native Filecoin actors written in WASM-compliant languages, as well as smart contracts written for other runtimes such as the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Secure EcmaScript (SES), and eBPF.

This two day workshop will help you understand the basics of FVM & will have a hands-on hardhat tutorial.

Huddle01 Workshop

Huddle01 is Web3 Video Meetings and Infrastructure. Huddle01 aim to bring the world closer via seamless video calling from anywhere in the world and serve people with newer ways to express their thoughts and feelings without any concerns.

They also provide powerful realtime SDKs that enables one to build many to many communication applications. Huddle workshop will provide hands on for developers to build real time communication in their apps.

The event consists of two workshops from Huddle01 the first one aims on how to use Huddle01 SDKs in your DApp and second one is a Video workshop.

Livepeer Workshop

Livepeer is an open video infrastructure, enabling developers to build video streaming applications. The network has been live on Ethereum’s mainnet since May 2018, is run by a decentralized network of token holding node operators, and powers both traditional and web3 video streaming at reduced prices relative to the existing cloud providers

Livepeer team would also be taking workshop to bring decentralise live-streaming in apps. One will get to learn Livepeer studio & how livepeer network operates. This would be a 2 day workshop will include a guide to livepeer.js, and how to integrate livepeer.js in a real-world application.

Web3 Social workshop by Lens Protocol

Lens Protocol is a permissionless, modular, and decentralised social graph that makes it simple to build a Web3 social platform. Lens empowers creators to take ownership of their content wherever they go in the decentralised internet’s digital garden.

Here you will learn:

  • How the protocol works and how to build on it
  • Introduction to the Lens Grants program
  • Examples of “blooming” projects of the Lens ecosystem

Compute over data by Boost

Boost is a tool for Storage Providers to manage data onboarding and retrieval on the Filecoin network. Boost exposes libp2p interfaces for making storage and retrieval deals, a web interface for managing storage deals, and a GraphQL interface for accessing and updating real-time deal information.

The workshop will give a walkthrough around:

  • How to make a deal using Boost
  • How to retrieve data from Filecoin using Bitswap
  • How to retrieve data from Filecoin using HTTP
  • Boost within the retrieval network

Compute Over Data stored on IPFS by Bacalhau

Bacalhau is a network of open compute resources made available to serve any data processing workload. Bacalhau enables users to run arbitrary docker containers and wasm images against data stored in IPFS. Bacalhau is a peer-to-peer network of nodes where each node participates in executing (computing) jobs submitted to the cluster. In this workshop,

  1. A brief overview of pinning data to IPFS and running Bacalhau:
  2. Ethereum Example with link to docs
  3. Building based on your web3 domain and level of expertise
  4. Bacalhau and IPFS experts are available in case of issues and questions on slack #bacalhau

Hosting a DApp on Valist

Valist is the web3-native software publishing protocol & app store. You can think of it as the App Store, or Steam, but for Web3 — no reliance on a single entity to deliver software from the developer to the end user!

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to host your DApp on Valist.

Zero to Dune with Open Data

Dune is a powerful tool for blockchain research, complete with all the tools you need to discover, explore, and visualize vast amounts of blockchain data.

The workshop would focus on building Dune analytics dashboard using on-chain data.

ZK Snark 101 by Harsh Bajpai

Learn zero-knowledge proofs and create your first ZK app, there is no prior requirement of knowledge to attend, bring in your laptop, and let’s build your first ZK app together.

Spheron

Spheron Protocol is an all-in-one decentralized platform for automating modern dapps. Spheron Protocol deploys each new website atomically, ensuring that there are no inconsistencies while submitting new files or making modifications to old ones.

The workshop would focus on how to deploy your DApp using Spheron.

Impact Evaluator by Juan Bennet

An impact evaluator is a procedure that evaluates the impact of something and gives points for it. It is applied to the process of determining systems on the basis of their impacts and outputs.

Catch Juan give a workshop and learn more on the topic!

Bounties and Grant opportunities

The event presents with a lot of grant and bounties. Hack some cool projects together, learn and earn. Check here for a list of opportunities.

Get acquainted with advance web3 tools

There would be different projects from Protocol Labs, such as:

  • Zondax: A powerful toolkit consisting of SDKs, APIs and Solidity Libraries to build on FVM.
  • Lighthouse: Lighthouse allows users to store their files on the decentralized network for lifetime at a fixed price.
  • Legacy: Legacy is a Web3 community and platform for capturing and preserving personal and institutional memoirs.
  • IPFS (InterPlanetery File System): A peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol designed to preserve and grow humanity’s knowledge by making the web upgradeable, resilient, and more open.
  • IPLD(InterPlanetery Linked Data): The data model of the content-addressable web is IPLD. It lets us treat all hash-linked data structures as subsets of a single information space, unifying all data models that link data with hashes as IPLD instances.
  • Libp2p: Libp2p is a network framework for developing decentralised peer-to-peer applications.
  • Multiformats: The Multiformats Project is a collection of protocols that aim to future-proof systems today. They accomplish this primarily by enhancing format values with self-description.

Networking & Accelerators

After a full day of workshops, all attendees would be able to network and meet new people from the ecosystem, interact with global leaders and different companies from around the world.

A curated selection of drinks and snacks would be available during all events, providing a more relaxed environment where people can interact and connect.

Startup accelerators provide mentorship, capital, and investor and business partner connections. It helps select startups with promising MVPs and founders scale quickly.

We’ve partnered with different accelerators during the course of the event. Highlighted accelerators being,

  • Tachyon Accelerator Team
  • Longhash Venture Team
